Fulbright Egypt

Bio

The Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt was established in 1949 and is the oldest and largest Fulbright programme in the Arab world. It was created through a protocol between the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. State Department. It seeks to improve intercultural relations, cultural diplomacy and intercultural competence between the people of the United States and other countries through the exchange of persons, knowledge and skills. It is one of the most competitive fellowship programs in the world, and it was founded by Senator J. William Fulbright in 1946 and is considered one of the most widely recognised scholarships, as it provides 8 000 grants annually.
