Floritha Fleermuys

Bio

Born in Windhoek, Floritha Christiana Fleermuys is a female RnB musician who began singing at an early age. In 2012, she released her debut album, ‘I Owe It All To You’, which featured the popular track ‘Mr. Damn Good Liar’. In 2013, she released her second album, ‘Don’t Judge’, an inspirational 11-track album encouraging women’s empowerment and helping young women to stand up and fight for themselves. That year she participated in Last Band Standing and reached the final of the competition. In mid-2014, she performed in the USA in Washington DC and at Sista’s Place in New York. That year in December, Floritha hosted two shows at the Gibeon Community Hall in Namibia.

She has two awards under her belt. In 2013, her song ‘I Owe It All to You’ won Best RnB at the Namibia Annual Music Awards (NAMA) in Swakopmund. In 2014, she won the same award with her song ‘Don’t Judge’. In March 2015, she released her third album, ‘For You’, featuring songs like ‘Too Busy For Me’ and ‘We All Need Love’.

Floritha’s music has elements of kizomba, especially on her song ‘Ndimenenge’ ft. M-Jay. She has worked with a number of artists such as Antonio, M-jay, Elvo, Bethold Jericho, Mjay, Loxer and Steven. She uses her music to advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness and to encourage and strengthen those living with HIV/AIDS. Apart from music, Floritha is studying law at the University of Namibia.
