FKA Kaymo
Bio
Kamohelo Gugulethu Kekana, professionally known as Fka Kaymo, is a South African recording artist, vocalist, and songwriter hailing from Soweto, Gauteng. Born on March 27, 2002, her journey into music wasn’t a decision — it was destiny. Music found her in moments of solitude, humming its way into her spirit from an early age. What began as melodies in her mind soon grew into a deeply personal form of expression — a diary of sound that holds her stories, thoughts, and emotions. Blending the soulful richness of R&B and neo- Soul with the groove of funk and the pulse of amapiano, Fka Kaymo creates music that feels like a conversation with the heart. Her sound is tender, honest, and immersive — a sonic embrace that invites listeners into her world. In 2022, she made her official debut with the singles “Fire” and “Nothing Lasts Long,” capturing attention with her raw emotion and lyrical depth. After a quiet hiatus, she returned in 2025 with “ LOWEST,” the lead single from her introspective project “ Pool: Play or Get Played” — a bold, emotionally resonant reflection of navigating love and vulnerability in her early twenties.
Fka Kaymo continues to evolve as a storyteller and sonic curator. Her music isn’t just something to hear — it’s something to feel. It’s joy, healing, and love made audible. Step into her universe, and you’ll find yourself experiencing the world through her eyes, her soul, and her sound.
