Bio
Eye_G (born Thulani Sigonya) is a multifaceted artist from Paballelo, Upington, whose creative journey began at the age of 14. A recipient of the Telkom Beacon of Hope Foundation scholarship, he went on to attend high school in Kimberley at CBC St Patrick’s College, an institution known for producing influential creatives such as Proverb, Thebe Magugu, Lucille Slade, and Trevor Stuurman. It was here that his passion for poetry was ignited and sharpened.
After relocating to Mafikeng to study at the International School of South Africa, Eye_G began fusing his poetry with rhythm and rhyme under the mentorship of Christian Mabusela. This period marked a turning point in his artistic evolution, leading to the recording of his first track with Cyril Khumalo, also known as Producer X.
He later completed his undergraduate and honours degrees at the University of the Western Cape, where he regularly performed at DL (English Block) open mic sessions. Today, Eye_G stands as a diverse and passionate artist, steadily carving out his space and leaving an unmistakable imprint on the creative landscape.
