Born Maame Esi Essilfie in Ghana, Ess Thee Legend is a dynamic singer-songwriter, sometimes rapper whose soulful melodies and poignant lyrics draw inspiration from icons like Sade, Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott , Amaarae , Michael Bolton , Ofori Amponsah and Tems. With over 15 released songs and more than 40 performances, she has captivated audiences worldwide, earning accolades like the Best New Artiste of the Year from the Golden Globe Creative Arts Awards, she was also nominated in 2024 for 3 Music emerging Woman of the year & Best alternative artist . A versatile talent, Ess excels in music, voice acting, and social activism, collaborating with organizations like You Are Cared For (YACF) to empower youth through music education. Her international recognition includes prestigious residencies like Black Girls Glow, One Beat Ghana, a British Council grant & in recent times the Ghana /France international songwriting camp. Also a 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Unsung nominee. Through her annual headline show “Ess Live” and collaborations with top producers, Ess continues to cement her place as a rising star in the global music landscape.
