Bio

The Eastern Cape Provincial Arts and Culture Council (ECPACC) is entrusted with the responsibility of fostering the arts and promoting the culture of the Eastern Cape, to allow for the expression of the unique identity of the province and to enable its artists to realise their potential through their expression of the arts and build an improved quality of life for themselves and their communities.

ECPACC aims to promote, support, develop, protect, preserve the arts, enhance public appreciation and participation in the arts and ensure the development of a broad, inclusive and identifiably Eastern Cape culture. ECPACC is governed by a council whose members are appointed by the MEC for Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture. The current interim Council was appointed 1 July 2012 for a period of 12 months. The Office of the MEC for Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture has identified nine program priorities for the ECPACC Council to create an enabling environment for the development of arts and culture in the Eastern Cape Province.
