Dusse Wavy
Bio
Makabongwe Scelokuhle Dube, better known by his stage name Dusse Wavy, is a South African rapper, singer, songwriter, and graphic designer from Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal.
Dusse Wavy grew up in the Richards Bay township of Esikhawini and is active across South Africa's hip-hop and Afro-R&B scenes.
His music fuses Afro-R&B and hip hop sensibilities with contemporary production and melodic rap; streaming profiles and digital-store listings group his releases under hip hop/R&B categories.
Some of the key releases include ‘Usebenzile’ and ‘FELA K'MINA’, the collaboration single ‘NYUSA x3’ featuring Sastii, and the 2025 project ISIMO (EP/album). He also features on other collaborative tracks like ‘INGAGARA’ - Sixby9ine/Qwellers, feat. Dusse wavy, and the 2024 album 23:24.
Dusse Wavy has drawn attention for creative self-promotion and online virality: a recent edited clip that imagines American streamer Kai Cenat reacting to one of his freestyles was reported by music press as a “manifestation” stunt that helped widen his online profile.
He has made regular spots on local bills and festivals, including an announced appearance as a featured artist for the Mzansi Neosoul Picnic; touring and event listings also show regular live dates in both KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
