Bio

Born on 6 January 1973, David Balsher, best known by his stage name Draztik, is a musician from Botswana. He grew up in Sacramento, California. He is a record producer, founder and CEO of a South African based recording stable called Unreleased Records. He has produced music for a number of hip-hop artists from South African, Botswana and the U.S.

In 2005 he won the Best Producer Award at the Botswana Hip-Hop awards. He is one of the pioneers of a hip-hop group called Cashless Society. He along with fellow group member Gemini produced their first studio album titled ‘African Raw Material Vol 1’. He went on to produce their most popular single ‘Hottentot Hop Bantu 1, 2’. In 2005 he produced Young Nations 1st studio album called ‘Nations Uprising’. He also produced Young Nations’s ‘Zwakala Emzansi’ album.

His gives credit for his work to Cashless Society, Young Nations, PDot O, Blaklez, L-Tido, F-eezy, Nveigh, Pro Kid, Zuluboy, Whosane, Nkululeko Habedi aka Flabba, HHP, Maggz, Reason, Silence Dem All, Doey Rock aka Mean Doe Green, Imbube, Oracle, Nomadic, Zeus, Apollo Diablo and Stagga.

He has recorded and mixed many songs on the Blaklez album’s ‘A Broken Man's Dream’ and worked on PdotO’s single called ‘Forgive'Em’ featuring Blaklez and Percy Mthunzdi.
In 2013 he and South African producer Trompie set up a producer’s blog and website called The Beat Resource site. As of July 2016, he was working on his first studio album and solo mix-tape. He is also working on the production of the ‘Blacwater’ album to be released on Unreleased Records in 2016. The album will feature Balance, Shark Sinatra, Whosane, MXO and Young Nations.
