Draei Bitsc
Bio
Draei Bitsc, born Bwango Issa Tomasc, is a talented Ugandan singer-songwriter, producer, executive record producer, voice-over artist, guitarist, peace builder, and professional social worker. He began his music career in 2013 by joining forces with five friends to form a local hip-hop group called Big Spit Cooperation in Fort Portal. Together, they recorded music that caught the attention of the Bayimba Academy. In the same year, they were invited to perform at the Bayimba Regional Festival and the Bayimba International Festival as part of the Youth and Hip Hop Project.
In 2015, Draei Bitsc joined the Jabulani Pallete Band, a cover band based in Fort Portal. In that same year, he participated in a reality TV show called Coca Cola Rated Next Season 03, which was a popular singing competition in Uganda. Despite facing tough competition with over 3,000 contestants, Draei managed to reach the top 10. Unfortunately, he was eliminated in the live shows due to a poor song choice. Nevertheless, this exposure introduced Draei Bitsc to a wider audience and gained him a following even after his elimination.
In 2020, Draei Bitsc took part in the Aka Dope singing competition, where he stood out among 250 contestants and secured a place in the top 10. However, due to academic challenges, he was unable to compete in the grand finale.
Draei Bitsc has since released timeless music that blends African sounds with guitars and keyboards, resulting in a unique and distinctive sound that complements his voice. In 2020, he released his single "Enyange," which became the most popular song in the Rutooro speaking community. The song was produced and recorded at Big Spit Studios by Draei Bitsc and Sagio Mhza.
As a peace activist, Draei Bitsc released "I Don't Know" featuring Aka Dope, where he addresses societal issues and urges young people in Uganda to step up and lead the way on matters that affect the youth.
Furthermore, Draei Bitsc is the co-founder of Big Spit Cooperation and The Acoustic Jam Band. Currently, he serves as the team leader of the Rwenzori Youth in Arts Peace Initiative organization, a youth-led and focused organization that utilizes art and culture for civic engagement while promoting peace and dialogue in the Rwenzori Region.
