DOUMIE
Bio
Doumie is a multilingual Malagasy artist redefining the global Afro sound, bridging Africa and the diaspora from her base in Texas while proudly carrying Madagascar onto the world stage. Blending Afro Soul, Alternative R&B, Indie, and folk, her music lives at the intersection of culture, emotion, and identity, creating a sound that is both intimate and internationally resonant.
Emerging with soulful reinterpretations like “Indray Andro,” Doumie quickly established her vocal presence before releasing her debut single “AMEZA” and her 2020 project “Butterfly.” Since then, her artistry has evolved with intention, moving beyond traditional R&B influences to reconnect more deeply with her Malagasy roots, infusing her sound with African rhythms, storytelling, and diasporic energy.
Her work is driven by a clear mission: to represent Madagascar on a global scale and contribute to the expanding narrative of African music worldwide. Through her genre-fluid approach and emotional delivery, Doumie creates music that transcends borders while remaining grounded in authenticity.
Now based in Texas, she is part of a new generation of African artists shaping the future of global sound, where heritage meets experimentation and culture moves without limits. Her performances are marked by vulnerability, presence, and a natural ability to connect with diverse audiences.
Her upcoming Afro summer single “WHYNE” marks a new chapter, introducing her next project, “SOUL (FANAHY),” a body of work rooted in spirit, identity, and self-expression.
As Doumie puts it: “I feel that I belong when I am in the booth and on stage.
