DJY Zan SA
Bio
Zinzan Ndlela, professionally known as Djy Zan SA, is a visionary producer and DJ hailing from Randview, South Africa. A central figure in the Amapiano movement, he is a leading pioneer of the "Harvard" and "Sgija" sub-genres, characterized by their sophisticated melodic layers and heavy, atmospheric log drums.
Early Beginnings: Zan’s passion for music was ignited at a young age, inspired by the old-school house music he heard growing up. He began producing music on his phone at just 17 years old, blending classic house sensibilities with modern Amapiano rhythms.
The Discovery: His ascent into the mainstream began when his track "Century" went viral on social media. This caught the attention of industry pioneer Mr JazziQ, who discovered him via Instagram and immediately signed him to the Black Is Brown Entertainment roster.
The Zan’Ten Synergy: Alongside his partner Djy Ma’Ten, Zan formed the powerhouse duo Zan’Ten. Together, they have released era-defining projects that bridged the gap between underground Sgija and global electronic dance music.
Cultural Impact: In 2022, his viral anthem "Bafo" was crowned TikTok Song of the Year, a milestone that cemented his status as a hitmaker with global reach.
Current Chapter (2025–2026): Now recognized as a veteran with over 8 years in the industry, Zan continues to evolve his sound. His 2025 and 2026 work, including the project the end of my chapter, showcases a more mature and refined "Harvard" direction.
