Dj Weld Defect

Dj Weld Defect (born Sizwe Suss Mdokwe) is a performance deejay, producer, music compiler, vinyl enthusiast and crate digger who hails from Orange Farm, South of Johannesburg.

He is the founder of Grooveback Studios, co-founder of S.K.A (Street Kulture Appreciation), a multi-dimensional musician who has been a deejay since 2009 and aspiring producer since 2014. He has been involved in creating beats and instrumentals for his band Abzu Kadence, DubAbantu, Groove Back All Starz and some feature & solo work.

He has explored some of South Africa’s dance floors, and international ones too with his eclectic sets. The list includes cities such as Johannesburg, Vaal, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town, Bonn and Leipzig playing in clubs, pubs, restaurants, gala diners, festivals, open airs and private parties. This man enjoys an array of equipment from vinyl turntables, CDJs, dj controllers, computer, and occasionally bashes drum machine pads...

His memorial moments; when he won the Tommorow Never Happened (TNH) Dj competition with DubAbantu and got to play at the main event in Arcade Empire in Pretoria. He also played in Leipzig (Germany) with dub sound systems, Digitron (Berlin) & Plug dub (Leipzig) On a sound system clash event. One of the most highlight as a DJ is sharing the stage with Legendary Bonn better Know crew.
