Bio

Chioneso Rutsito is a sensational vocalist, composer, instrumentalist and poet. She burst out
with the memorable hit “Eddimore” in 2016. Went on to release two hot singles “No Plan B”
featuring DJ Wedengaand “Kamini”. She has collaborated with other artists on their albums notably the album "Zaruwe" by Nasibo Mutize and most recently"Varipasi" by Edith WeUtonga which was nominated for UK Folk Album of the year IN 2026. Her poetry pieces have also been featured in the Standard
“UPINSMOKE POETRY CORNER”. She mostly writes from a woman’s point
of view, especially about the effects of abuse, poverty, and identity crisis on women. An activist
for women and children as well as African culture and identities in her own right. She has
embarked on using her own Shona dialect ” Chibuja” in delivering her spoken word pieces
hoping to encourage as well preserving the identity of the“Mabuja” people. She is an audio and
sound engineer, a farmer, a costume designer and a skilled chef. She sits on the executive
committee of the Zimbabwe Musicians Union and holds the national chairperson role of The
United Women in Music Zimbabwe. She is an advocate for women’s rights and issues a Netherlands Embassy Gender Champion 2021 as well as a Global Universty Alumini
