Born on April 15 three decades ago in Arusha Tanzania as Francis Thomas, his artist name Chaba aka Baba Mkubwa is one of the illest finest MCs in Tanzania. He started Rap in 2000 influenced by 90's Rap game, MCs like Notorious B.I.G, Jay- Z, Common, Eminem and Buster rhymes. His First single 'Wamejaribu' was released in 2002,and his first CD 'Nyota njema ya mtaa the mixtape' came out in 2012, Daz Naledge being the executive producer under Dab Musik and Watengwa records.

The mixtape has famous songs as 'Kibao' ft Wiseman, 'Amkaa' ft Da hustler, 'Pita Hivi' ft Nash MC, 'Nasty', 'Hey Woman' and 'Shukran' ft Vicklicious. Baba Mkubwa music talks about how dope he is, rap game vs mainstream,the streets,happiness, love,and so little about politics.
