Cedo is regarded as one of the most sophisticated producers to come out of Kenya. Unlike producers known mainly for club hits, Cedo built his name through musical craftsmanship—layered arrangements, strong songwriting instincts, and Afro-fusion textures that helped Kenyan music sound global.
His career grew significantly through his work with Sauti Sol, where he became associated with a polished continental sound. He developed a reputation as a producer who could blend African percussion, pop structures, and modern sonic design into records with international appeal.
He has worked with Nyashinski, Avril, Sauti Sol and others. Many artists credit him with elevating their sound.
Notable productions associated with Cedo include Aminia, Mungu Pekee, Malaika (with Nyashinski) and several major Sauti Sol-era records. These songs showcased his ability to balance commercial accessibility with musical depth.
Cedo’s biography is really the story of a producer who helped push Kenyan music outward—to African and global audiences. He is often mentioned whenever conversations turn to elite East African production.
Cedo was born on 7 December 1989, and grew up in Kenya with a strong early interest in music, especially keyboards and arrangement. While still young, he was already learning production and experimenting with sound design, which later became the foundation of his career.
His real entry into the industry came after high school and college years, when he began working in professional studios in Nairobi. Around the mid-2000s (roughly 2006–2008), he started taking music production seriously and began working behind the scenes with upcoming artists.
By the early 2010s, Cedo had already become active in the mainstream Kenyan music scene, producing for artists under and around Pacho Entertainment and other Nairobi-based studios. During this period, he was refining his signature Afro-pop and urban fusion sound.
His breakthrough phase came when he started working with major Kenyan artists like Sauti Sol, Nyashinski, and King Kaka, helping shape some of Kenya’s biggest modern hits.
From around 2012 onward, Cedo became fully established as one of Kenya’s top producers, eventually expanding into musical direction, composition, and even launching his own projects as an artist. He has since worked with many East African stars and continues to operate as a major figure in the indus
