Cebo 'Crax' Simelane

Bio

Crax (real name Cebo Simelani) is a South African based Swaziland artist whose style, writing and delivery earned him a well-deserved spot in the history of Swazi hip-hop. He shot to fame with hits such as ‘Over n Out’, ‘Word Up’, ‘Shifta’, ‘Counting My Steps’, ‘Uphi Zhii?’ and ‘Bassbin’. Being one of the leading rappers in Swaziland, he has appeared on Hype Magazine, SABC, SuperSport, YFM and many other media platforms.

He started performing at a young age while in pre-school. He began writing music when he was 11 years old but his maiden appearance in the studio was in 2005. He draws his inspiration from artists such as Kim Walker, Donnie McClurkin, Hillsong, Movado, Jah Cure, Nneka, Turrus Riley, Busta Rhymes, Last Emp and Giptian.

In 2010, he started recording a debut album titled ‘The Swazi Magnate’. That same year he recorded a radio ad for PG Glass with Pro-verb. He also performed at the Mr. and Miss Damelin. In 2011, he recorded a joined single with Pitch Black Afro.
