Bio
Ce Cani is a Nigerian artist who blends afrobeat, soul and alternative RnB. He released summer baby in 2019 and Away in 2021. Two songs that solidified his sophisticated style of music.
He was born and raised in the city of Port Harcourt where he attained his primary and secondary school education. He took classes on communication studies at a media institute before proceeding to the university of Port Harcourt to study theater and film studies. Ce Cani was introduced to Afrobeat by the likes of Fela Kuti and Wizkid growing up, which metamorphosed him into an artist. He was strongly opposed by his parents for showing interest in music and at age 16, poetry became a voice that he used to navigate his way into the creative industry.
Ce Cani first broke into the creative industry by performing poetry on radio at age 16. However his musical journey started with the Super Legends, a group he shared the idea of songwriting with in secondary school. He became a Solo artist afterward and released summer baby in 2019. His first attempt at recording was in 2018, a song called drums was made but it didn't make it to the public.
In 2020 during the covid, Ce Cani recorded an EP Album named Out Here which was mixed and mastered by Alisa Macenkova, a Latvian producer friend, although the album was released on his SoundCloud page. In 2021 he released away, an Afrobeat song that has a little blend of RNB, the song became a wave because of it sophisticated style of sound.
Ce Cani was inspired by Thunderstorm in Surulere, a song by Lady Donli, he ended up creating a song with the same title.
He's interest in music lies in variety of sounds and he draws his inspiration from Fela Kuti, Tems, Harry Bellafonte, Nina Simone and Wizkid.
