Byron Ashley, also known as Busik embodies the essence of “Local Is Lekka” within the South African music landscape. With over 13 years of immersion in the country’s electronic music scene, he is deeply rooted in its underground clubs and culture, now fully dedicated to the local Deep House movement.

As one of the label heads and A&R executives at Deep House South Africa, Byron shapes the direction of the label whilst curating Deep Town Jozi lineups with the team. His talent recently earned him a residency on Metro FM’s UrbanBeat show alongside Ryan The Dj & Roxpaperscissors, further solidifying his influence in the industry.

Byron’s contributions extend beyond the decks and the studio; he is a driving force behind the growth and evolution of South Africa’s deep house scene, continually pushing boundaries and championing local talent.
