Bio
Brendan Praise, born on 5 February 1994 in Graskop, Mpumalanga, is a South African singer, songwriter, producer, and musician known for his versatile talent and technical expertise in music production.
Early Life & Education
Growing up in a musical family, Brendan began singing and learning piano at the age of twelve. In 2013, he enrolled at Emendy Sound and Music Technology College in Pretoria to study sound engineering, honing both his technical skills and creative abilities.
Career Highlights
While still a student, Brendan competed in Idols South Africa, where his vocal talent and stage presence quickly made him a fan favourite. He finished as runner-up, using the platform to launch his professional music career.
In 2018, he featured on Black Motion’s hit single “Joy Joy”, earning a nomination at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs). Brendan has since released independent projects and collaborated with artists such as Morda, contributing as a composer, producer, and engineer. In 2025, he received a Grammy nomination for his contributions to the soundtrack of the film The Color Purple.
Personal Life
In 2017, Brendan married media personality Mpumi Ledwaba. The couple has a daughter named Nuri.
