Bio
Blakjak is a musician from Malawi. He was born Fatsani Michael Che-Kalonda. He is not strange in the country's music scene. He started loving music when he was a teenager. At the age of 10, he had already started recording music through his family. Though his songs were not good quality, he kept on nurturing his talent. To date, he has advanced to become one of the country's top urban acts. He is the former member of a music outfit popularly known as Nyasa Guruz. His siblings were also part of that group.
As Nyasa Guruz, he has released songs such as ‘Tumpale’, ‘Suzzie’, ‘Nthawi’, ‘Fisi’, ‘Ndinakufera’, ‘Chikondi Chanu’ and many others.
As a solo artist, he is credited for singles like ‘Wadya Iwe’, 'Ulindine' featuring Piksy, 'Ndi Inayake', ‘Mavuto’ and ‘Indetu’. The songs have reportedly enjoyed airplay from local radio stations. In July 2014, he released a song titled 'Ndapita'. The track was a dedication to the late Xtassy (real name Bennie Maruwo). In April 2015, he signed to one of the leading artist management and promotion companies in the country called Prime Time Media.
Besides singing, he is a composer, writer, producer, actor and a host of shows and programs. In September 2014, he co-hosted the country's International Arts Festival.
