Bio

Nabil Franck Assani (born January 27, 1988), known by his stage name Blaaz, is a Beninese hip hop recording artist from Kano, Nigeria.

Blaaz began gaining recognition in 2007 with his first appearance on Fool Faya’s album, followed by collaborations with Cyano-gêne on the singles Hard Lyrical and Alerte Rouge. The success of these releases led to a strong partnership with Cotonou City Crew (CCC), where he rose to prominence through the hit single Où est ma monnaie, one of the most downloaded songs of its time.
In 2008, Blaaz released Aller Retour, a breakout single that became one of the best-performing songs of the year and announced his debut album, Ghetto Blaazter, released on December 26, 2008. The project firmly established him as a leading voice in Beninese hip-hop, earning widespread media attention and demand for performances across Benin and the sub-region.
Between 2008 and 2010, Blaaz remained active through various mixtape appearances, including W.A.R. In 2011, he expanded his career internationally by signing with Gabonese label Eben Entertainment, marking his return with the highly successful single Le Fou, which became the most downloaded song of its period.
In 2012, Blaaz released Ne me laisse pas tomber under Nouvelle Donne Music and launched his own label, Self-Made-Men, further solidifying his independence. His impact was recognized in 2013 when he was ranked among the top artists of the year by U.M.A Magazine. He continued his success into 2014 with the release of Je vais vous tuer tous, opening a new chapter in his career.
