Big Nuz
Bio
Big Nuz consists of Mandla Maphumulo (Mampintsha), Mzi Tshomela (Danger) and Sbu Khomo (R Mashesha). The group was formed 2002 and they were based in Johannesburg where they hustled from one studio to another in search of a recording contract. In 2002, they did a jingle for the now-defunct television soapie Backstage. This got them featured on the show. They continued their hustling in 2003 working with producers Koloi Lebone and Beatmaker, doing songs that never got released. In 2004, they featured on RnB singer Ishmael’s song entitled 'Boom boom'. Big Nuz eventually secured a recording contract with Gallo Records in 2006, releasing thier debut album entitled 'Zozo' soon afterwards.
Big Nuz have traversed the length and breadth of South Africa, performing at club venues and big festivals alike. Their big break came after they released their album 'Undisputed' in 2009, which featured the hit song 'Umlilo'. They have also worked on theme songs for the Kwa-Zulu Natal Department of Transport and Nedbank. 'Made in Africa', their latest album, is yet another thumping collection of bangers aimed directly at the dancefloor.
