Bio
Bhinca LomXhosa: A Musical Journey of Resilience and Triumph from the village of Kwa Nothenga in Eastern Cape, South Africa, to the global stage, Bhinca LomXhosa's story is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose. Born Thando Mtyhobile, this multifaceted artist's love affair with music began singing at a tender age iSicathamiya with the Peace Lovers Brothers.
Mentored by the legendary Ndoyithini Peter April, Bhinca honed his craft, blending traditional sounds with modern flair. His collaborations with Abaqondisi Brothers and Kuyasa Kids led to a US tour, raising awareness for HIV/AIDS and sharing stages with Switch foot.
With over 25 years in the industry, Bhinca's versatility shines across genres: iSicathamiya, Gospel, Afro-pop, and now Maskandi. His hit singles "Mandoza", "Abalandeli bam", "Iphara", and "Stabhilithi" have catapulted him to fame, earning him the Best Maskandi Artist 2024 award at the Mlwazet Bavundulule Awards.
