Beverly Sibanda

Bio

Beverly Sibanda (real name Junior Lizzy Zinhu), popularly known to her fans as Bev, is a well-known Zimbabwean dancer and musician who was born in Chitungwiza 3 April 1991 andgrew up in Greendale. . Bev, as she is affectionately known made headlines with her erotic and raunchy dance routines,often something totally taboo in the country. In 2014, Bev was alleged to have been converted to Christianity by Prophet Walter Magaya and was applauded by most Zimbabweans. Within three months of her conversion, Bev went back to her dancing after alleged disagreements with Magaya.

She attended Selborne Routledge and Zengeza 4 Primary schools for her primary education. She later attended Zengeza High 2 School and Charles Clerk for her secondary education. She didn’t do well in school and decided to join Zalabantu Dance Group from Gwanda.

In 2008, she established a solo career as a sex dancer. In August 2011, she together with Mercy Mukumire, Chantel Dlamini and Brenda Cocoa founded the Sexy Angels group. The group gave her a household name and grew to become the country’s sought after dancer. In 2013, she ventured into the music industry and worked with prominent South African musician Freddy Gwala. She also worked with local artists such as Shiga Shiga. She llater lauched an album and one of the songs whuich featured on her music project is ‘Tshaingoma’.
