Simon Madol Akol (Betwiin) – Biography
Simon Madol Akol, known professionally as Betwiin, is a South Sudanese recording artist, football coach, and social impact leader. He was born on December 23, 1997, in Bor, South Sudan, and is currently based in Juba.
Music Career
Betwiin is a recording artist who began his music journey at a young age, developing a sound that reflects contemporary African youth culture and personal storytelling.
He has released several songs, including Misunderstood, Thank You, and Village, gaining recognition for his authentic voice and relatable lyrics.
His music explores real-life experiences, social challenges, and everyday life in South Sudan, connecting with a growing audience both locally and online.
Football & Leadership
Alongside his music career, Betwiin is actively involved in sports development. He serves as the Head Coach and Technical Director of the South Sudan Blind Football Team and League, where he has contributed to the growth of the sport since 2020. And helped the South Sudan football football national team win the 2025 IBSA blind football African championship division 2 in Uganda.
Social Impact
He is also serves as a Disability Inclusion Facilitator, working with Light for the World to promote inclusion through sport. His work focuses on empowering people with disabilities and using football as a tool for peacebuilding and community development.
Background
Betwiin holds a Diploma in Communication and Public Relations from the University of Juba and has maintained a strong passion for both music and football from an early age.
