Benjamín Aedo
Bio
Guitarist, composer, and arranger who has dedicated his work to folk music, roots music, and fusion. He has studied with renowned teachers such as Simón González, Juan Falú, Javier Bravo, among others, and has performed on various stages in Chile, Argentina, Spain, France, Slovakia, Germany, and Australia, either as a soloist or as part of different projects.
In 2021 and 2024, he was awarded the Margot Loyola Roots Music Composition Prize in Chile.
Some of the notable projects he has participated in include: Magdalena Matthey Quartet, Guanaco Trio, Benjamín Aedo y Grupo, among others. He currently resides in Catalonia, Spain.
During June and July 2024, he recorded his first album, titled "Amigos de un río plateado," which will be released in May 2025 by the prominent Chilean label Mescalina.
In September 2025, he will be part of the Romanian Jazz in the Park Festival, which has been taking place in Cluj-Napoca since 2015.
