Beatrix

Beatrix, a contemporary Malawian spoken word poet whose full name is Beatrice Kimberely Ligomeka is known for her emotional and impactful performances that tackle various social issues as well as difficult and sensitive issues, including homelessness, grief, and mental health. Beatrix uses her performances to voice untold stories. 

She has performed at various events, including a recent poetry night she hosted at the Apollo Auditorium in Blantyre. She has been nominated for awards, such as Best Female Poet, and is a recognized figure in the Malawian poetry scene. She shares video's of her performances on social media platforms like TikTok and Facebook, where her work gains significant traction.
