Asna
Bio
Growing up in the vibrant cultural hub of Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, Asna's sonic identity was shaped by local street rhythms and traditional celebrations. A visual artist by trade, her deep dive into music production sparked in 2015 during a transformative encounter with traditional drumming ceremonies, prompting her to physically capture ancestral energy for modern club floors.
Asna's signature sound is a seamless, rhythmic collage. She masterfully blends the frenetic pace of Ivorian Coupé-Décalé, the deep, heavy basslines of South African Gqom, and the raw energy of Angolan Kuduro, all stitched together with hypnotic electronic techno and house textures.
Since making waves with her debut single Atalaku in 2021, Asna has grown into an international festival favorite, bringing her high-octane sets to iconic global stages like Afropunk, Nyege Nyege, and Boiler Room. Beyond her solo production work, she is a key figure in West African nightlife culture as a core DJ for the renowned Abidjan collective La Sunday and the founder of the Sunyubok project, an initiative dedicated to empowering young, emerging multidisciplinary talent across West Africa.
