Army Squad
Bio
Army Squad is an Angolan hip-hop group that emerged in the early 1990s. Initially part of the collective Bue, the group has collaborated extensively with Heavy C, who features on several of their tracks, including "Cabeca Vazia" and "Conselho de Amigo".
The group’s music spans a wide range of themes, from love songs such as "Pel Castanha" and "Conselho de Amigo" to hard-hitting gangsta rap hits like "Firme" and "Cabeca Vazia". Like many of their peers, Army Squad aims to raise global awareness of Angola’s hip-hop scene.
In 2000, the group partnered with South African producer duo MG Partners—Salty G and Marty Mar—who handled production, recording, engineering, and even produced the music video for their track "Os Amigos".
Army Squad has achieved notable success within Angola and is currently exploring opportunities to release their music in other Portuguese-speaking countries, broadening their international reach.
