Mohlomi Gabriel Ntabanyane, popularly known as Apollo Ntabanyane, is a legendary Lesotho-born musician celebrated as the "King of Famo." His career has spanned several decades, making him a central figure in the preservation and popularization of Sesotho culture.
He was born in Nchochoaneng, Mapoteng, Berea Lesotho,in 1942.
Married to 12 wives,Apollo is blessed with 35 children.
Apollo Ntabanyane is synonymous with Famo, a genre characterized by its use of the accordion and narrative-driven lyrics
He is recognized as a virtuoso who elevated the accordion from a folk instrument to a lead performance tool.
It was In 1974, when he declared himself the "King of Famo" at a concert attended by Lesotho's Queen 'MaMohato.
