Anya Umadal creates original music that blends elements of progressive jazz, Amazigh and North African traditions.
Band members Kaoutar Bouakka (lead vocals), Mohamed Choukayri, also known as Chuck Dare (guitar, backing vocals), and Nourdine El Kasba (oud) produce a unique sound that balances intimate moments of sincerity with powerful melodies and incendiary rhythmic passages. The group writes original melodies that explore the ranges of traditional Moroccan music.
