Bio

Currently he is the Managing Director of IKS Cultural Consulting, Head of the Concerts SA Project, on the board of the Market Theatre Foundation and the Audit and Risk Committee of music in Africa, as well as the Southern African Focal Point for the African Culture Fund. www.iksafrica.com www.concertssa.co.za

He is considered a highly regarded African cultural activist, arts manager/administrator. He was the Managing Director of the Southern African Music Rights Organization (SAMRO) Foundation and Executive General Manager of Corporate Affairs (Brand, Marketing and Communications). SAMRO Foundation is the largest private contributor to music development in the Southern African region and SAMRO is the largest music rights society on the African continent, and respected across the world.

He serves and has served on a number of boards on South African and African arts and culture landscape as strategist and in advisory roles. He is recent past Chairman of Business and Arts South Africa (BASA). He served on the boards of Music in Africa (MiA) (Vice Chairman / Founder Board Member) (Audit and Risk Committee), and the UNISA Music Foundation.

He also served on the boards of the Arterial Network of South Africa (Chairman), the University of Stellenbosch Music Centre, Klein Karoo Kunste Fees (Karoo National Arts Festival) Moshito Music Conference & Exhibition 2009-2011 (Chairman) the South African Coalition for Cultural Diversity (Chairman), South African Music Export Council - SAMEX (Vice Chairman) and the International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD), Music Industry Standards Generating Body (SGB) for curriculum and skills development.

He worked for the National Arts Council of SA, the National Department of Arts and Culture, the Eastern Cape Provincial Department of Arts and Culture, Institute For Democracy in South Africa, etc.
