Alungile Lamani

Alungile Lamani is a singer hailing from the small town of eQonce in the Eastern Cape. Her musical journey began in the vibrant harmonies of her local SDA church, where she first discovered her passion for singing. A proud alumna of an all-girls school, she went on to make her mark on the national stage, winning the National All Girls’ Festival singing competition, a testament to her dedication and exceptional talent.

Building on her gospel roots, Alungile developed advanced vocal technique and stage performance skills while studying Performing Arts at the University of Fort Hare. Over the years, she has worked alongside prominent jazz figures such as Andile Yenana, Sakhile Simani, Thembinkosi Mavimbela, The Buffalo City Municipality Big Band, and many more.

Today, her rich, expressive jazz style reflects both the soul of her church beginnings and the precision of disciplined training, captivating audiences in every performance.
