Alikiba

Alikiba is a bongo flava artiste from Tanzania. At his young age, from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, has already seen much of the world. His songs, most notably the monster hit Cinderella, have become known and loved all throughout the Swahili speaking countries of East Africa as well as the diaspora. The style is called Bongo flava which is also the term used to describe Tanzanian hip hop, however Ali Kiba’s songs are more reminiscent of candy zouk.

Indeed,his debut album was Cinderella which was one of the biggest selling records in East Africa. He subsequently toured the US and Europe.

His second album, Ali K 4Real, was released in 2009.

Some of his songs include Najuwa, Ndugu Wangu, Nakshi Mrembo, Sikuoni, Zaidi Yangu, Kuteseka, Njiwa, Yatima, Raggatone, Sabrina, Nichuum, Msela, Namshukuru Mungu and more.

In 2009,Ally was nominated at two prestigious Awards in the United Kingdom, namely;
Best East African Artist at the African Music Awards 2009.The 2nd African Music Awards (AMAs) event is tipped to be the biggest African party, exploding with the exquisite continent’s rich music and culture on Black History Month held on Saturday 17 October 2009 at the stunning 1930’s fashionable venue; TROXY.
He has also been nominated as Best International Act at the BEFFTA Awards,Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts Awards(BEFFTA Awards) Exclusively at London Hilton Metropole on 17th October.
