Alamokha

Bio

Alamokha is a Tanzanian composer, performer, and songwriter whose work is rooted in African storytelling and traditional African rhythm. Working across Afro-soul, and Afro-jazz fusion her music blends guitar-driven melodies with heartfelt lyrics that reflect everyday life, resilience, and hope from an African perspective.

Born and raised in Tunduma Tanzania, Alamokha comes from a non-musical family and is the only musician in her clan. Her connection to music began at an early age, around five years old, when she discovered a deep love for sound and rhythm. With limited guidance but strong inner motivation, she taught hermself the foundations of music, driven by passion rather than formal tradition. Music became both a personal refuge and a way to understand the world around him.

Alamokha’s artistic practice focuses on telling African stories through music. Her compositions are inspired by lived experiences, community narratives, and the emotional journeys of ordinary people. Many of her songs are uplifting and motivational, encouraging listeners not to give up despite life’s challenges. One of his notable works, “Don’t Give Up,” reflects this commitment to hope, perseverance, and emotional healing.

After completing high school, Alamokha pursued formal training at TASUBA College of Arts in Tanzania, where he graduated in 2019. There, he was immersed in an environment of collaboration, experimentation, and live performance, which significantly shaped her artistic growth. It was also during this time that she chose the guitar as his primary instrument, developing it as both a melodic and storytelling tool.

Seeking further development, continued his studies at Action Music Academy, supported by a German institution. From 2019 to 2023, this experience strengthened not only her technical skills as a guitarist and arranger but also his understanding of music production and music marketing. Today, she is an independent artist who composes, performs, sings, writes, arranges, and plays guitar in her projects.

Alamokha has performed on major stages in Tanzania, including Marafiki Festival, Ongala Festival, and Serengeti Festival, and the bigget festival in east africa SAUTI ZA BUSARA festival and has collaborated with international artists on a global album project involving musicians from multiple countries. Through her work, she aims to preserve African heritage, foster cultural exchange, and create music that connects people across borders while staying true to his roots.
