Blending African traditional and pop rhythms and sounds with today’s modern Electronic Dance Music elements and techniques, Ghanaian Music Producer & DJ AFROLEKTRA combines these two worlds distinctively to create a sound that has garnered mass appeal.
His choice of sound spans variations of African Music, both old and contemporary - from highlife to afrobeat and Afropop, blending these with various forms of Electronic Dance Music - house to new trap sounds and moombahton. Although he wears many hats which includes producing as well as engineering records for a plethora of artists, the core of AFROLEKTRA’s sound and identity is based on his own artiste project. As a DJ, his wild live sets, and refreshing playlists full of bizarre remixes and mashups bring concert goers and festival enthusiasts utmost satisfaction.
His performances at major African festivals and venues include Afrofuture (Afrochella), Chale Wote Street Art Festival, Basketball Africa League (BAL), IMullar Sound System, Outmosphere, Polo Beach Club, Sabolai Radio Music Festival, Front/Back, Luna, Gold Block Party, SOHO, MAD, GARAGE and UPPFEST.
As a songwriter and music producer, AFROLEKTRA has spearheaded the production of chart-topping records from artists Black Sherif (Rebel Music), Gyakie (Rent Free) and Omar Sterling (Boom Boom). He is also credited massively on “SAME EARTH DIFFERENT WORLDS”, an album by R2BEES half Omar Sterling, producing 10 out
of 20 songs including features from A-list artists Kwesi Arthur, Efya, Mugeez, M.anifest and R2Bees. He has also produced tracks from the highly rated “Back 2 Basics” album by R2Bees, including Sure Banker – fusion of native highlife with amapiano rhythms. He also boasts of credits with many other artists including Camidoh, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Meiway, Asakaa Boys, King Promise, Fireboy DML and Dr. ADO, Chimano (Sauti Sol).
