Afro Moment

The group Afro Moment, born and raised in Maputo, started long before they were born. His musician father's Marabenta guitar infusions, and his heritage of Timbila and ceremonial percussion from southern Mozambique. The Mozambican duo is well known, with their live percussion and DJ set at parties, weddings and corporate events. Their debut album “Nights in Maputo” expresses what nightlife is like as the sun goes down in this part of Africa with local and international artists in this dance-heavy album. DJ Bino, who is yet another of the brothers, moved to Johannesburg for two years in 2017, raising money and shipping sound and studio equipment across the border, while Dom Minito continued building his own studio in his childhood neighborhood of Malhangalene. . They recently participated in the collective session of Makeda's Drums Radio by Jaime Del Valle, and 3 edition off Maputo Electronic Festival in CCFM; where the duo received a lot of exposure on a global platform.
