Abeeka Band

Abeeka Band is a popular live music outfit from Kampala, Uganda, celebrated for their vibrant fusion of Afro-fusion, reggae, soul, and dancehall. Formed in January 2021, the band quickly rose to prominence in Uganda’s live music scene after several members branched off from the acclaimed Janzi Band.

Band Members

The all-male group consists of five core members, many of whom have previously collaborated with legendary Ugandan artists such as Bobi Wine, Juliana Kanyomozi, and Isaiah Katumwa:

• Jimmy Lubwama (Pages) – Lead singer; finalist in the Coca-Cola Rated Next competition.

• Kevin Sekasi – Drummer, backup vocalist, and the band’s music director.

• Michael Sebulime – Lead guitarist, trained in music theory at Makerere University.

• Allan Okia – Bass guitarist and primary music producer.

• Trevor Muhumuza (Dr. Tre) – Keyboardist.

Music & Career Highlights

• Mainstream Debut: Released their first original single, Danse Danse, in October 2022, marking their transition from a cover-focused live band to recording artists.

• Brand Ambassadorship: In February 2026, unveiled as faces of Tusker Malt Band Nights, promoting live music across Uganda.

• Key Releases: Nzija (2023), Kugwe Kwenfiira (2024), and Marry You (2025).

• Major Event: Scheduled their maiden headline concert, Roots & Vibes, on 2 May 2026 at the Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala.

Abeeka Band maintains a regular performance schedule in Kampala:

• Wednesdays: Karibu Grill, Bugolobi

• Sundays: Cream Hotel, Kyaliwajala
