Bio
Abashante were a a kwaito group in the early 90’s part of the revolutionary movement that defined the sound of the youth in that era, signed and mentored by Arthur Mafokate founder and owner of 999 music, a record label that was forefront in the 90’s producing and performing kwaito music.
The group was made up of Aba - the ragga influence in the group, the initial male member before being replaced by Zombo, Queen, Nestum, Tsholo (dance) and Hazel (dancer). The group gave us such albums as Girls (1996), Dreams (1998), Intwenjani? (1999), Vuk'Uzenzele (1999), and Ayoyo (2001).
