Dunamis – born Rets’elisitsoe Molefe, who derived his stage name from a Greek word meaning ‘Dynamite’, is one of the most influential young Basotho artists to emerge in this generation – from winning numerous awards, radio appearances on the biggest radio stations in South Africa, features on popular TV shows to performing to crowds of thousands! His name attests to the impact the young artist is having in the African music industry, with an independent career spanning 10 years. Dunamis launched his debut album, “Mastered Seed” on the 07 July 2007, which features 16 tracks and the much-loved single ‘Mastered Seed’ whose video was on high rotation on Channel O – a pan African channel that broadcasts in South Africa, Nigeria and across the continent. He has since released two more albums – the latest being G.O.D (God of Dunamis) on the 25th of June 2016 which sold over 6000 copies in Lesotho within three months of its release. Listening to G.O.D is like an intense rush of blood to the head!!! The hard-hitting beats and crafted rhymes reflect the mind of a street wise legend in the making. Once again Dunamis has maintained the good balance of catchy melodies and deep lyrics which have won him hearts beyond the borders of Lesotho. 2017 started with a bang with Dunamis being invited to perform in front of over 30 000 people at the AD launch rally in Lesotho. This is a year of further conquest – as he plans to tour abroad and reach more fans across Africa and beyond with his music.
