The agreement marks a new phase in the 25-year-old artist’s career after months of growing attention around her genre-blending sound and independent releases. Details of the deal were not disclosed, although it is expected to include recording support, touring opportunities and potential international collaborations.
Skyla Tylaa first gained wider recognition through ‘Vele Uyena (Risk It All)’, which features Elaine, JAZZWRLD, Thukuthela and Solaariss. The track recently received a certification plaque, reflecting its commercial performance.
“It’s not just about streams or sales. It’s about people actually connecting with my music and supporting me,” Skyla Tylaa said. “That’s what means the most to me.”
The artist has built a following through independently released material shared online before attracting interest from industry executives and audiences beyond South Africa.
Her signing comes amid increased competition among labels seeking emerging African artists with strong digital audiences and crossover potential.
No release dates for future projects have been announced.
