Yasmine Azaiez
Bio
.
A graduate of the Yehudi Menuhin School in the UK and the New England Conservatory in Boston, Yasmine Azaiez is a Tunisian-Indian violinist, vocalist, and composer whose work bridges North African musical heritage, contemporary jazz, and free improvisation.
Leading her quartet, Azaiez brings a deeply rhythmic and expressive vision to the stage, where precision and spontaneity coexist. Her violin and voice serve as the central narrative force, guiding an ensemble that thrives on dialogue, collective listening, and constant reinvention. The quartet format allows the music to remain fluid and alive, transforming each performance into a singular experience shaped by the moment and the audience.
She has performed at some of the world’s most respected concert halls and cultural institutions, including the Royal Albert Hall (London), the Bimhuis (Amsterdam), the Cultural Center of Beijing, the Cairo Royal Opera House, l’Olympia (Paris), the Royal Opera House (Muscat), and Jordan Hall (Boston). Her appearances at major festivals such as the Carthage Festival in Tunisia and the Mawazine Festival in Morocco have established her as a distinctive voice within the North African and global music landscape.
Her collaborations span a wide artistic spectrum, including work with Naseer Shamma, Mstislav Rostropovich, Cory Pesaturo, Kinan Azmeh, Apollo Liberace, Ramy Ayach, and Rami Khalifa, reflecting both her versatility and her commitment to cross-cultural dialogue.
