Shoday

Shoday is a Nigerian Afrobeats and Afro-fusion singer and songwriter whose music blends melody-driven storytelling with contemporary street influences. Born Shodade Solomon Segun in 2000 in Ogun State and raised in Lagos, he draws heavily on his everyday experiences, relationships and environment to shape a sound that feels both personal and widely relatable.

He began his creative journey as a content creator before transitioning fully into music in the early 2020s. Shoday started gaining attention with early releases that highlighted his smooth vocal delivery and emotive writing, before breaking through more prominently with tracks such as “Dey 4 You” and “Caution”, which helped establish him as a rising voice within Nigeria’s new wave of Afrobeats artists.

Shoday’s sound moves fluidly between Afrobeats, Afro-pop and R&B, often exploring themes of love, perseverance, ambition and self-reflection. His debut EP BRKFST introduced listeners to his versatility, balancing upbeat, rhythm-led tracks with more introspective moments. Since then, collaborations with notable artists including Bella Shmurda and Kizz Daniel have further expanded his reach and visibility.

With millions of streams across digital platforms and a steadily growing international audience, Shoday continues to build momentum through consistent releases and engaging live performances. He represents a new generation of Nigerian artists shaping contemporary Afrobeats with authenticity, emotional depth and a clear sense of artistic direction.
