Espago
Bio
Espago, born Olubobokun Gbenga Paul, is a Nigerian Afrobeats and Afro-fusion musician whose work is distinguished by the incorporation of Fuji melodies into contemporary soundscapes. Emerging from Lagos, he is gaining attention for a style that draws on Yoruba musical traditions while remaining grounded in modern Afrobeats production.
Before pursuing music full time, Espago worked as a chef, a background that shapes his artistic narrative and informs his understanding of discipline, creativity and purpose. His transition from the kitchen to the studio marks a personal turning point, with music becoming a means of self-expression and reinvention.
He comes into wider focus with his debut single “Killing Me”, a track that introduces his fusion-driven approach and begins to position him within Nigeria’s growing cohort of genre-blending artists. Through steady releases and an active online presence, Espago continues to build momentum, presenting himself as a reflective and culturally rooted voice within the evolving Nigerian music scene.
