Ditto Music
Bio
Ditto Music is a globally recognised music distribution and record label services company, founded in the United Kingdom in 2005 by brothers Lee and Matt Parsons. Originating from a modest flat in Smethwick, Birmingham, the company has established itself as a premier platform for independent artists and labels.
A landmark achievement in its early history was the distribution of "Blag, Steal & Borrow" by the band Koopa in 2007, which entered the UK Top 40 and earned a Guinness World Record as the first unsigned band to chart, cementing Ditto's role in democratising the music industry.
The company has experienced significant international expansion, growing from its UK roots to establish a formidable global presence with offices across Europe, North and Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Australia. This strategic growth, which included a major wave of expansion in 2017, has enabled Ditto Music to support a community of over 500,000 artists and labels worldwide. The company's rapid ascent was formally acknowledged when it was named to The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list of Britain's fastest-growing private companies.
Ditto Music's core offering is its comprehensive digital distribution service, which places music into over 160 online stores and streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon, while allowing artists to retain full rights to their work. Beyond distribution, the company provides an extensive suite of tools for artist development, including the premium Ditto Plus service for marketing and promotion, music publishing administration, and sync licensing opportunities for television and film. Further initiatives, such as the Ditto X music conference, underscore its commitment to educating and empowering the independent music community.
Throughout its history, Ditto Music has been an instrumental partner for numerous artists who have since achieved global acclaim, including Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, and Sam Smith. The company's profound impact on the music industry has been recognised with multiple award nominations, such as for Best Label/Artist Services Company at the Music Week Awards. By consistently providing the tools for success, Ditto Music continues to fulfill its mission of enabling independent artists to build and sustain successful careers on their own terms.
