Open call: NewComma Creative Fund March cycle
The NewComma Creative Fund for African creators is inviting applications for its March 2024 cycle.
NewComma is a social media platform for African and Black creatives to share their work and find jobs, and the fund is a monthly microgrant with no strings attached.
To date, the organisation has granted over $5 000 to more than 20 recipients in various countries, including Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Angola, Tanzania, Botswana and Kenya.
To be eligible, applicants must be a practising African/Black creative.
How to apply:
Interested applicants must:
- Login/sign up to NewComma.
- Showcase their talent with three projects in their NewComma portfolio.
- Build an impressive portfolio on NewComma by adding at least three of their best projects using the intuitive project builder, highlight their skills, experience, and creativity to stand out from the crowd.
- Head over to the NewComma jobs board and complete the application form here.
The deadline for application is 31 March.
Note:
- The judges will only consider applications with NewComma project links. The embed block can be used to add work from various platforms such as YouTube, Figma and Spotify to the NewComma project before submission.
- The quality of creative effort is highly valued and should be demonstrated by including fine details about the project and the process behind its creation in the submitted NewComma project.
- Applicants should also provide a detailed explanation about how the £100 microgrant will support their creative endeavours within their application.
- To increase the visibility of their work, individuals should promote their projects by sharing links to their NewComma projects with the hashtag #NCFund.
For additional information, individuals may send an email to hello@new-comma.com.
