Bio

Nothende ‘Blak Olive’ Madumo is a singer, songwriter, producer, performer and vocal coach from The City of Gold, Joburg, South Africa.

Born into a creative family in Mafikeng, NW, Nothende began writing songs at 11 years old. By the time she was 19, she had released her very first official single titled “Ooh”, featuring Khuli Chana of Morafe. The classic R’nB tune marked the beginning of her colourful career, which has seen her working with artists such as the late Prokid and HHP, Kabomo, RJ Benjamin, Wanda Baloyi, Maxhoba as well as American singer Frank McComb.

The debut album “LoveLight” saw Nothende gain international recognition with her music being played on radio stations across Europe, and the album reaching #3 in the UK Soul Charts.

Nothende received a significant stamp of approval from popular Brasilian DJ Guto, who made ‘Dance To This’ a dance floor favourite amongst the Brasilians.

The diversity in Nothende’s song-writing skills has continually been recognized in the industry with multiple award nominations for the SAMA and METRO FM music awards.
