Call for applications: Expert in Residence for African creatives in the UK
Do it Now Now (DINN) in the UK, is accepting applications for its Expert in Residence programme for African creatives.
DINN is an open innovation organisation committed to the social empowerment of black people by providing access to opportunities for social mobility through entrepreneurship and employment.
“We bring skilled talent, charities, social entrepreneurs, start-up teams, social innovators, investors and philanthropists together to address social challenges, solve problems and support the development of underserved groups,” DINN said.
Note:
- The programme will run across all DINN's work across the UK and Africa.
- Experts will work remotely with some in-person engagements where appropriate.
- Experts will receive between £300 ($400) and £600 per day.
Once selected, experts work with the programme participants across one or more of DINN’s existing initiatives or inclusive partnerships. They will undergo training in the following areas:
- How to write a training programme.
- How to manage 1-2-1 or group session dynamics.
- How to create accessible presentations.
- How to write a keynote speech (storytelling).
- How to engage in safeguarding the participants.
DINN is seeking freelance Experts in Residence in the following topics:
- Diversity and inclusion.
- Anti-racism.
- Employability skills.
- Personal finance (savings, debt management).
- Fundraising (VC investment).
- Fundraising (social investment).
- Fundraising (grants).
- Small business finance.
- Business development
- Growth marketing.
- Branding and visual design.
- Governance.
- Legal structures for impact organisations.
- People and HR.
- Design thinking and rapid prototyping.
- Impact measurement.
- Community organising.
- Movement making.
- Strategy and operations.
- Leadership and mindset.
- Qualitative research methods.
- Other skills relevant to our target demographic of non-profit leaders, tech entrepreneurs and young job seekers.
Key responsibilities
- Training – develop and deliver training based on the specifications we provide.
- 1-2-1 coaching/mentoring sessions – support individuals in personalised skills development.
- Speaking – inspire others by sharing your story, industry knowledge and experience.
