Thabiso Thabethe
Bio
Born in 1994, the African Alien aka Thabiso Thabethe is a singer-songwriter, music producer and red wine painter from a township called Winterveld in Pretoria South Africa. Despite being an afropop artist , Thabiso doesn’t limit himself to the genre as he enjoys to fuse styles, sounds and genres for his intricate and well thought out musical and artistic expression.
Thabiso has managed to build a solid name for his brand as a local independent musician performing at prestigious events like:

The young artist started getting a lot of media attention when he discovered red wine painting in 2017 after producing 10 different portraits (1,5metres x 1metre) for his Messages From a Bottle mobile art exhibition. The exhibition was featured in:

- Johannesburg (New Acropolis Philosophy School)
- Mozambique (Mafalala Festival in Maputo)
- South African State Theatre's (Youth Expressions Festival) in Pretoria.

Thabiso released his debut music project African Alien

After a good streak of afropop singles, Thabethe followed up 2024 with a joint hip hop album titled BET ON YOURSELF with Muvhango actor Tebatso Mashishi, where Thabiso Thabethe is a producer and Mashishi aka Prodykal Son is the main rapper.

Besides being on stage or in the art studio, Thabiso usually hosts monthly events called SIZA PHUMELELA to provide a platform for artists in the township and developing emerging talent as an initiative to make a change in his neighborhood.
