Call for applications: COVID-19 relief fund for Gauteng creatives

All eligible applicants need to adhere to the guidelines below and ensure that their application forms consist of the following supporting documents:

• Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID.
• Must be a Gauteng resident.

The following documents should be included in the application form:

• Certified ID copy/smart ID not older than three months.
• Bank confirmation letter, Post Office account (This is to confirm the bank details where applicable).
• Proof of residence i.e. letter from the ward councillor, water and lights account, etc.
• Proof of cancellation/ loss of income of work, activity, programme, project which could include any of the following:  

1. Affidavit/ explanation on how you were impacted by the COVID-19 and lockdown (to be stamped and signed by a commissioner of oaths or ward councillor).
2. Trading permit.
3. League fixtures with dates, tournaments with dates (for athletes).
4. Letter from organisers.
5. Agreement/contract signed with organisers.
6. Memorandum of agreement or service level agreement or contract.
7. Appointment document.
8. Booking schedule.

How to apply

• Applicants should download an application form here. The submission deadline is 30 October.
• Eligible to apply are any persons who meet the above-set criteria and serve in the arts and culture, sport, recreation, film and television sectors and whose work or event(s) was postponed or cancelled from 16 March to September (when the President made a State of Disaster announcement).
• Provision of false information will be treated as fraud and dealt with through the appropriate criminal justice system.
• Applicants must not be receiving financial assistance from any other arts and culture, sport, recreation, film, television and government or any other sector related source for the relief fund they are applying for.
• Applicants should provide correct and accurate information for a rapid and efficient application process.
• Applicants should sign off the application form.

Note: The application process is adjudicated by an independent panel.
